This morning on my ride to work, I hear that a 14 year old girl was posting nude pictures of herself on Myspace for her boyfriend to view. I think what she did was a total disgrace and she will never regain some of that innocence she lost with doing this, however; my beef is not with the girl as much as the State trying to register her as a sex offender for the rest of her life.
First off you need take a look at the psychology involved with this 14 year old. She was probably yearning for attention, lacked brain cells to make intelligent decisions and had the lowest self esteem possible. With that combination and then parents whom don’t give a damn what their kid is doing half the time, you have a young porno star on your hands. This child needs rules and discipline but most definitely not the label of a sex offender! She shouldn’t be forced to register in a database of individuals whom have sexually harmed other individuals; not themselves!
So this scenario poses a really good question – should individuals be prosecuted for crimes against themselves? If I commit suicide, am I then labeled a murderer? If I go into my kitchen, take a pan and call the police to tell them I stole that pan from the kitchen, could I then be prosecuted as a thief? Are you kidding me? This is the silliest thing ever and the prosecutors on this case should be worrying about more important issues such as murders, drug dealers and thefts going on in New Jersey – or more importantly, the guidance this child is receiving from her parents. Perhaps this is more of a Child Protective Services case in this instance rather than what they’re going with.
If anyone has the right to prosecute this girl (or her parents since she’s underage), it would be Myspace for breaking their policy of no nudity. I’m not sure if breaking their policy is punishable by law, or if they would just delete her account. Even the mom behind the creation of Megan’s Law is against this stating that “she should have an intervention and counseling, because the only person she exploited was herself.”
The Government is going to reach a level to where there’s a law of how much toilet paper one can use. I will not stand for it and I hope the rest of this Country will take a stand. Don’t be sheep and always remember, what WE (the people) say goes.
Yesterday former President Billy Clinton visited Clark Atlanta University to help promote Jim Martin’s run for Senate. The crowd was supposedly extremely enthusiastic as Mr. Clinton and Mr. Martin emerged and took center stage to rally the crowd for a hopeful Senate win. If it weren’t for work, I would have been there cheering them on! He must have really loyal fans b/c the temp was at/close to freezing last night. This election is very important for the Democrats as it could be a filibuster to provide a 60 vote Senate majority. Even though I do consider myself a Democrat more than anything else, I’m kinda torn on this because it will give Democrats free range of creating new laws and I do not particularly care for the creation of new laws. It’s a bitter sweet win but I’m just happy it’s not a republican majority ran Senate.
My President is black. What a statement! Well technically not President yet; but I’m gonna go with it. It’s ok to be “unofficial” in this instance. For the first time in our Country’s 232 years, we can proudly declare that we have a President elect that is not a white male. A Country that was founded mainly by slave owners…I’m proud of how far we have advanced as a Nation and I can’t wait for the next step, a female President!
It hasn’t been that long ago that blacks nor women could vote in this Country. My eyes welled up as I heard him speaking about his victory and even during McCains speech. I felt he was sincere in that moment, more than he had shown his entire campaign. I am so ecstatic about the number of individuals who took it upon themselves to go out and let their opinions be known. We broke history not only by electing a black man but by the overwhelming turnout of voters. Especially by young people; 30 and under. I do not care who you voted for, you rock! For the first time in my short voting history, I am excited about the future of our Country and I look forward to seeing what Obama will do with her.
I hear comments around my office of individuals stating “oh Lord, the Country is done for now” or “God help us, this is horrible!” How horrifically sad. People should try to have be more optimistic rather than pessimistic. Do not think of the glass as half empty, rather half full.
I guess the one thing I am the most proud of is that our new President can actually speak. I quote the little guy, “They misunderestimated me.” — bush in Bentonville, Ark., Nov. 6, 2000
It has finally arrived! The anticipated Election Day 08. I can say with pride that I will cast my vote in this historical election at 3 p.m and hopefully I won’t be standing there until 2 a.m. The lines are wrapped around the polling places and I’ve heard rumors of people having to wait up to 4 hours or as little as 10 minutes. I will stand there as long as I have to and proudly cast my vote for Obama. I can’t wait to see what he will do for this Country.
It’s such a shame that his Grandma died right before the biggest moment in this mans life. I’m sure she knew he would win and she had already cast her vote for her baby but I wish that she could’ve hung in there to witness this. It’s another dark rain cloud to attend to before the sun reveals its radiant face. Life just loves to throw those little suprises at you, doesn’t she? But it will make him a stronger person and he will have a loving spirit to watch over him I’m sure. Are you ready to witness history in the making America? I hope so. Because it’s happening this very moment!
Please vote.
So many people died so that we could have a voice. You owe it to your forefathers. Even if it is an “unpopular opinion.” It’s yours!
“The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge natural to party dissention, which in different ages & countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders & miseries, which result, gradually incline the minds of men to seek security & repose in the absolute power of an Individual: and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of Public Liberty.”
— George Washington, September 19, 1796
With the downfall of one of my companies biggest Clients, AIG; things are starting to get kinda scary. I’ve overheard numerous colleagues around me complaining about the funds they’ve lost with this horrible crash and the government bailing them out is just ridiculous. Bush claims that if he did not help them out (not only AIG but the many other financial institutions he’s going to hand out close to $700 BILLION to), it would reverberate world wide. All I can say is thank you to all the voters whom elected Mr. Corporate America for President of the free World and maybe; just maybe… these institutions shouldn’t have been ripping us poor/middle class Americans off so badly – perhaps that’s why foreclosures are through the roof. You get a big thumbs up mr. bush! And no capitol B for you…
I think there are way better things to spend our hard earned tax dollars on than helping some companies with bad business practices; or whom have bad accountants! Here’s some of my ideas below:
- Alternative fuel research (a biggie seeing how as we Gwinnecians cannot just drive up to a pump this past week unless you wanna wait in line for 30 minutes, I just go at 11 pm! hehehe)
- Helping Countries with extreme poverty issues such as Darfur and Ethiopia
- Paying off each citizens debt
- OR just giving me the cash
Yup, that would work for me
It’s sad that Clinton gifted us with such a booming, bountiful economy and now look what this war mongrel leaves us with… an unjust war; excuse me conflict, mangled economy, outsourcing nightmares and a steady decline in jobs. To hell with the “trickle down effect.” Merry Christmas bush, now get the fuck out!
I’m off to see what trouble I can get into tonight. Talk to everyone later,

I am no fan of Sarah Palin and I think that she should probably be at home “chilling” in her wilderness cabin with her many children (and grandchildren) rather than trying to run for the 2nd most powerful seat in the World. I’m for women’s rights and all, don’t get me wrong… but she had no clue what the Bush Doctrine was about; for starters. Shall I really even continue and waste the most precious gift endowed to mankind – time?! She’s a cute gal and all but I don’t think she’s up for the challenge. This video explains it all… it’s great!
Night,

I remember where I was 7 years ago today… walking into my classroom, putting my apron on; a typical day. My kids were bright eyed and ready to go to the playground so we headed out early. I remember everything so vividly, it started out like any other old day. My favorite little boy Chase arrived and I remember seeing this look in his Dad’s eyes as he walked him out to the playground… a big, powerful man whom did not give off many expressions. I knew something was horribly wrong.. I recall him telling us a bomb had went off in the World Trade Tower. My heart sank, I was speechless. And not even a minute later, another parent came in and told us that it was not a bomb, but rather an airplane. And then another. My knees began to tremble as I sat listening to story after story. We didn’t have a T.V. to watch, only hear say as we watched the kids play; clueless as to what was going on around them. It seemed like a dream.
And then the real fear hit home, someone told me that the military bases all over America were being shut down because the Pentagon had been attacked. I walked out of the daycare. I got in my car and I drove. I cried. And I frantically tried to call my husband at Ft. McPherson. I could not get an answer from him cell or his office. I called my mom and could barely even talk through my tears. All she could tell was to pull over and breathe. After what seemed liked hours of trying to get in touch with him (was probably only a couple of minutes) he finally answered his phone, told me that they had locked the base down and were under a high alert. He could not talk long. As I got home and turned my t.v. on the tears never stopped. I was panicking and all I could think about was my husband at the Army’s largest major command – FORSCOM. And that they were probably next on the list; a step down from the Pentagon.
I watched poor civilians leaping from windows of the Trade Towers, cititzens on the streets covered in debri and thick clouds of ash chasing everyone down the streets like a slow wave crashing over their heads. I could only imagine what they were thinking, the horror. You don’t want to re-live it but it’s always there, in the back of your mind. And I don’t want to forget it. It seems like the bush administration did though. He goes to war on behalf of this horrible tragedy and tricks the American people into a war (excuse me, conflict; let’s use his little positive term) at a time when they were most vulnerable. We were gung ho and ready to get back at those whom harmed us, rightfully so. But they went after the wrong people.
What a fucking joke. Now that his term is ending and it’s “popular” to dislike this administration, I hope everyone will see how easily you can be fooled and how cruel some people really can be. What they will do for the almighty dollar. I’m proud to say he never fooled me. Even before this man was elected, I KNEW he wanted to go to war. It was written across his forehead in blood.
1/20/09 cannot come soon enough. Go Obama!
Below is my lil’ anti-bush site I made a couple of years ago when it was sooo popular to be on the bush bandwagon… it’s kinda outdated but I’m still proud of it! However small it may be, my opinion still counts damn it! Check it out if you have time, it’s a free site so it may crash if too many people view. Come back another time if it’s down.
