Made it safely back from Paris… didn’t want to come home. :) I’m gonna post some pics soon and journal about the events of the trip. Can’t wait to share my experience!!

Your spirit is strong
It carries you
A heavy load
And runs with you
Across the World
You let it take you

Your spirit is strong
It consumed me
Curious eyes and a wandering mind
Not so heavy but nonetheless
Quite a load
And I allowed it to take me
Across the World

Your spirit is strong
It took them all
The heaviest load
And the hairs stood upon their neck as you carried them all, across the World

A wonderous load

But you broke
You couldn’t carry them for long
Even though your spirit WAS strong

And it took you
Across the World

~Family and friends
~Eyes to cry and laugh
~A spirit that will allow me to fly wherever I wish to go

This song is stuck in my head and I really like it. Lyrics are below…

on a cobweb afternoon
in a room full of emptiness
by a freeway i confess
i was lost in the pages
of a book full of death
reading how we’ll die alone
and if we’re good we’ll lay to rest
anywhere we want to go

(chorus)
in your house i long to be
room by room patiently
i’ll wait for you there
like a stone i’ll wait for you there
alone

on my deathbed i will pray
to the gods and the angels
like a pagan to anyone
who will take me to heaven
to a place i call
i was there so long ago
the sky was bruised
the wine was bled
and there you led me on

in your house i long to be
room by room patiently
i’ll wait for you there
like a stone i’ll wait for you there
alone

and on i read
until the day was gone
and i sat in regret
of all the things i’ve done
for all that i’ve blessed
and all that i’ve wronged
in dreams until my death
i will wander on

I had a perfect weekend!  Friday night I visited the Westin’s Sundial rotating bar and restaurant, had a nice cabernet while gazing at Atlanta’s twinkling lights from below.  Saturday night we went to Atlantic Station to check out Dialogue in the Dark, an exhibition that simulates blindness.  It was MAGNIFICENT!  You go into a room w/ small group and they give you the poles visually impaired individuals use.  Then you sit on a lit cube for a few minutes before the room goes pitch black.  You cannot even see your hand in front of your face.

A guide enters the room, explains a few rules and tells you to follow her voice at which point you enter a HUGE area that replicates a park.  You are running into bushes, trees, fences, mailboxes, people, rocks… anything you would find in a park/yard.  I managed to get stuck in between a fence and brick wall.  The guide called for us to go to the next room, so with my dress on; I had to hop the fence to catch up with my group.  Whomever operated the infrared cameras had a nice view that night!

After that experience you get to visit a grocery store, dock with a boat ride, a street and then a bar where you can purchase drinks, all in total darkness.  Be prepared for groping, stalkers, laughing, bruises and an overall fun time.  I wouldn’t mind going again.

The best part of the entire experience was speaking with the tour guide after it was over.  We learned that she was actually blind (we thought she had infrared vision the entire time) and that all of their guides were visually impaired.  How awesome is that?  She said “this is my world all the time.”  That just gave me goosebumps.  What a brave individual.  But if you think about it, it’s not so bad.  Her other senses are so much more heightened than a person that can see.  She can experience so much more with her hearing, touch, taste and smell.

Happy early Thanksgiving everyone!

With 5 months of research under its belt, the Mars Lander has gone peacefully into the quiet yonder.  After 9 days of silence, NASA scientists are not expecting the mechanical explorer to return to life.  The malfunction is thought to have been caused by the onset of the extreme Martian winter and a harsh dust storm.  Scientists had predicted this would happen but you can’t help but to mourn the loss of this little robot as it was the first to discover water on Mars as well as several other chemical compounds resting in the red soil so far away from us.

There is a slight chance it could be resurrected after the Spring thaw but NASA is doubting this will happen.  RIP Mars Lander robot in your lonely, icy grave millions of miles away!

I said I would have a good b-day weekend…

p.s. the pictures update every so often so they may be m.i.a. if you visit later..

I noticed a theme today, myself and at least 3 of my colleagues were all dressed in black.  Maybe it was the rainy day that brought the wardrobe coalition on…

Tomorrow is a big day.  I’m so scared/excited/angry/happy/sad, all at the same time.  I’m starting to think my emotions change like the wind.  Oh!  Saw V is coming out on Oct. 24th, can’t wait to see it!  Check out the below trailer if you’re interested.  Well, I’m out!  Red wine in hand and ready to party hard, it’s going to be a good weekend.  Talk to you guys later.

Hi all,

The plans are underway.  I have 3 vacations in the works for this summer and I can’t wait!!  There is nothing I love more than traveling and two out of the three locations will be brand new so I get to explore all over and take lots of wonderful pictures.  I’ll give you a hint of the future destinations… margaritas, beautiful people & white sand.  It’s very broad but once I know that I’m doing all three for sure I’ll let you in on the locations.  And the pictures will not be far behind.  ;)

Well, it is a Saturday and I’m letting what little bit of sun is out escape sitting in here so I am out!  I will be back soon (hopefully this weekend) with a new gallery update.  Check back soon for more.

See ya,

Lindsey
